BJP Sikkim Questions Lack of Action on Pakistani Nationals Amid MHA Deportation Orders

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sikkim has questioned the state government’s silence regarding the deportation of Pakistani nationals, following recent actions taken in other parts of India after the Pahalgam incident.

Speaking at a press conference in Gangtok, BJP Sikkim spokesperson Passang Sherpa expressed concern over the state administration’s inaction, despite a clear directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

“The MHA has already asked all states to identify and deport illegal Pakistani residents. However, Sikkim’s district administrations have shown no visible progress,” Sherpa stated.

BJP Sikkim has formally reached out to the District Collectors of all six districts in Sikkim, requesting updates on whether any such verification or investigation has begun. Sherpa added,

“The public deserves to know if any Pakistani nationals are living in Sikkim illegally. If yes, what’s the current status? If no action has been taken, why not?”

The party urged the district authorities to provide a public report on the matter and clarify if any deportation steps are in progress.

Sherpa emphasized that national security must be a top priority and called on the state administration for transparency and accountability in dealing with this sensitive issue.
